Dr. Ruchika GoelEvery day, more than 40 children are diagnosed with cancer in the United States and many of these patients will receive blood transfusions as part of their treatment. Dr. Ruchika Goel, Medical Director with ImpactLife, has recorded an informative video on the ways in which blood transfusions are used to help children receiving treatment for cancer.

In addition to her role with ImpactLife, Dr. Goel is a practicing hematologist / oncologist with SIU School of Medicine and serves on the Transfusion Medicine Faculty of Johns Hopkins University.

ImpactLife seeks to raise awareness and inspire action with its “Blood Is Medicine” campaign materials, now available to download and share from www.bloodcenter.org/BloodIsMedicine. The Blood Is Medicine campaign materials include an educational toolkit with infographics and statistics, motion graphics, social media cover photos, and video features.
